David Villa, one of the world's greatest strikers who is the main weapon for reigning world cup champion Spain, as well as Barcelona's weapon remains an enigma, because it remains to be seen how good is he really. There are already those that are calling him the best striker in the world, and few are even calling him the best player in the world, yes even ahead of his teammate and friend Lionel Messi. He has scored more goals over the last decade than anyone except that someone named Messi, yet Villa accomplished this feat despite not playing for one of the country's biggest clubs and beginning the century in the second division. In fact, he has never slipped below 15 goals a season, and usually averages 20 a season. He is considered by many to be the most clever, technical and sound around the goal, often scoring with an ease that is incomparable. He was also the top scorer in Euro 2008, as well as the joint top scorer in World Cup 2010. He remains though somewhat of a mystery, partly because he lacks the explosiveness of Messi or Ronaldo, or even Rooney, and someone like Torres, yet he makes up with his technicality, and precision. He is a throwback to the past where guys like Baggio, Stoichkov, Del Piero made it an art.
